Cook

Location: Bronx or Manhattan based
   
Duties:

Under the supervision of the Supervising Cook, is responsible for assisting in the preparation of meals for all clients of the program.

   
Responsibilities:
  1. Receives and supervises the distribution of food prepared in the main kitchen.
  2. Receives and stores the delivery of food as needed.
  3. Supervises the clean-up after meals and general cleanliness of the food prepared and the dining areas.
  4. Communicates daily with the Cook Supervisor as to the population expected for meals the following day at the facility.
  5. Attends staff meetings as required.
  6. Performs various other tasks as specified by the Director of Food Services.



Qualifications: A high school diploma (or equivalent), training in food skills and at least two (2) years experience in food service for an institution (e.g., hospital, hotel, etc.).
